X's Fingerless Mittens
I don't know about you but my hands are always cold, but gloves or mittens make simple things like using a touch screen or typing difficult. So the natural solution to this problem, at least in my mind, is fingerless mittens.
I made these fingerless mittens about two months ago without a pattern but didn't write down what I did... oops. So I made another pair, while trying to work what I did and here's the pattern.
Materials:
Hook: 5mm
Needle to weave in ends.
Abbreviations (US Terms):
Notes:
- Chain does not count as a stitch
- 2 dc means dc in the next two stitches
- Cross stitch = sk 1 st, dc, working behind the last st, dc into skipped st
The Pattern:
Left Hand:
Ch 9
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch
across. Turn.
Row 2-24: ch 1, sc in blo in each st across. Turn.
Sl st into row 1, sl st down to close cuff.
Round 1: ch 3, dc in the top of each row around, sl st into first
st (24 st)
Round 2: ch 3, xs until end of round, sl st into first st.
Round 3:
Round 4: ch 3, xs until end of round, sl st into first st.
Round 5: ch 3, inc in first st, 6 dc, inc, 6 dc, inc, dc
rest of round, inc in last st, sl st into first st (32)
Round 6: ch 3, 5 xs, sk 6, xs until end of round, sl st into first st.
Round 7: ch 3, dc in each st, sl st into first st. Tie off.
Right Hand:
Repeat pattern of left hand until the end of row 5.
Round 6: ch 3, 8 xs, sk 6, xs until end of round, sl st into first st.
Round 7: ch 3, dc in each st, sl st into first st. Tie off.
Now just weave in the ends and you're done! If you make them I'd love to see, tag me on Instagram @CrikeyMeYarn
